Skyline Drive: Front Royal – Rockfish Gap
Along this route
About this route
The full length of Skyline Drive through Shenandoah National Park, from Front Royal along the crest of the Blue Ridge to Rockfish Gap, where the Blue Ridge Parkway starts. Dozens of overlooks over the Shenandoah Valley and the Piedmont, and a 35 mph limit all the way, so this is a slow, scenic ride rather than a fast one. There is a park entrance fee. Fog, ice and snow can close the road, and deer and bears cross often.
Check road conditions, closures and opening dates before you ride.
