About this route
Highway 190 across Death Valley National Park: over Towne Pass, down to Stovepipe Wells and Furnace Creek below sea level, past Zabriskie Point and out to Death Valley Junction. Long straights, big desert views and a long, steep grade on Towne Pass. In summer it can be well over 45 °C: carry water and do not count on shade. Fuel only at a few places in the park, and there is a park entrance fee. Spring and autumn are the best time.
Check road conditions, closures and opening dates before you ride.
