This is a bigger update. Most of it is about finding a route that suits your bike, and about planning a long one.
Six bike types
We brought the bike types down to six: Sport, Naked, Touring, Adventure, Cruiser and Scooter. You can filter on them in the route list, on the map and in search. Routes made for your kind of bike come first, followed by the routes that suit any bike.
Long curvy routes in the Route Maker
In the Route Maker you can now generate a curvy route to a destination up to 1,500 km away as the crow flies. A long route is planned in stages of about 350 km, and each stage shows up on the map as soon as it is ready. That can take a few minutes. You do not have to sit and wait: leave the page, and the calculation carries on when you come back.
Sea in the way? The Route Maker tells you, because it only plans over land. Put a stop on each side of the crossing, at the ferry ports.
Your badges in 3D
Under My Rewards on your profile, all your badges now sit together in one grid. 26 of them have their own 3D image. A badge you have not earned yet shows as a silhouette, with a ring around it that fills up as you get closer.
The map keeps your route
Picked a route on the map? It stays selected when you pan, zoom or tap an empty spot.
Your own route, from its page
Open one of your own private or link-only routes and the top of the page now shows its status. That is also where you choose who sees it: Private, Link only or Public. The Publish button shares it with every rider, and within a few minutes it is on the map.
Credits & licences
Motarva stands on the work of many others: the people behind OpenStreetMap, open-source software, fonts and icons. The new Credits & licences page tells you who they are and under which licence we use their work.
And also
Search is more dependable: press Enter and you land on the same place every time. The address search got a few fixes too.
