New on Motarva: seven new badges and your invite link on My Rewards

This update is mostly about My Rewards on your profile. On top of that, the Route Maker now knows what to do with a pin dropped where no car can go.

Seven new badges

There are seven new badges: In Your Pocket (you signed in to the Motarva app), First Ride, Arrived (you followed a route with navigation all the way to the end), Guest Rider (you rode another rider’s route), Ten Makers (you rode routes by ten different makers), First Collection and In the Garage.

Already done what a badge asks? Then it is already yours. Every rider who qualified got it straight away.

Five of the seven are earned out on the road, which happens in the app. On the website those badges say “Earn it in the app”. First Collection and In the Garage you can also earn right on the website.

Tap a badge

On My Rewards your badges now sit under an Achievements heading, with one line on how they work: you earn badges by riding, sharing routes, writing reviews and inviting riders.

Tap a badge and a sheet opens. If you have earned it, its 3D animation plays once and then the badge stays put. If you have not, you see its silhouette, what it takes to earn it and how far along you are.

Earn a badge on the website and Motarva celebrates it right away with its 3D animation.

Invite riders

My Rewards also has a new Invite riders card. Copy your own invite link there, see what an invite earns you in XP, and check how close you are to your next referral badge. The link opens Motarva in the language you use the site in. XP and badges are just for fun: they have no monetary value.

Route Maker: a pin where no car can go

Asked the Route Maker to generate a route, with your start or finish in the middle of a car-free town centre? It now moves that point to the nearest road a route can both leave and reach. The map shows you where: a ring where you put the pin, a dashed line to the spot where the route begins, and a message with the distance.

Dropped a pin at sea? You get a clear message at once instead of a wait. And when it looks for that nearest road, a ferry never counts as a way in or out.

Your profile

Under My Account, My Garage now sits right below Profile. And on a phone, the edge of the tab bar shows you when there are more tabs to scroll to.
