About this route
The eastern end of the King's Road, from Loviisa past Pyhtää, Kotka and Hamina to Vaalimaa near the Russian border. Coastal farmland, fortress towns and quiet roads. The border crossing at Vaalimaa is closed, so this is a dead end: plan your way back. Finland drives on the right, signs speeds in km/h and requires dipped headlights at all times. The riding season runs roughly from May to September; watch for elk at dawn and dusk, and for reindeer on the road in Lapland.
