Putting a GPX route on your TomTom Rider
Download a motorcycle route on Motarva and import it via MyDrive or Plan TomTom. A GPX is usually treated as a fixed track on TomTom, so the device follows the original roads as closely as possible.
Importing a GPX via MyDrive
- 1 Open the route on Motarva and download the GPX file.
- 2 Open MyDrive or Plan TomTom in your browser and sign in with the same account as on your Rider.
- 3 Go to My Routes and pick the option to import a GPX file.
- 4 Select the file and give the route a recognisable name.
- 5 Enable syncing with your devices when that option shows.
- 6 Wait until the route shows on your Rider and open it via My Routes.
A GPX becomes a fixed track
TomTom usually treats an imported GPX as a track. The device follows that line as closely as possible and does not always recalculate like a regular planned route. That is exactly what you want when you plan to ride the chosen roads.
When do you pick ITN?
ITN holds a series of route points and compatible TomTom devices use it as a route: the device calculates the roads between the points itself. That makes ITN easier to adjust, but the track can deviate when map data or settings differ.
Check the route before you leave
Open the route on the Rider and check the start point, end point and the important stretches in between. Keep enough free storage, update the device, and bring a copy of the route file on your phone for a long trip.

Why does the route not show on my Rider?
