The Route Maker is at /route-maker/. Anyone can open it; to start you need a free account.

  1. Choose Draw a route (or just click a point on the map).
  2. Click on the map to add points. Between two points the line follows the roads by itself.
  3. Drag a point to move it. Grab the line between two points to add a point and drag it in one move.
  4. To delete a point: right-click it, or on a touch screen hold it for half a second, then choose Delete.
  5. Click Save and choose Keep as draft, or press Ctrl+S (⌘S on a Mac). Next time, Continue your last draft picks up where you left off.

Useful buttons

  • Undo and Redo (Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Shift+Z, ⌘ on a Mac).
  • Reverse route: ride it the other way round.
  • Clear route and Start over.
  • Route guide: a short tour of the screen.

“No road found”

When we cannot find a road between two points, that stretch shows dotted with a warning. Drag the point onto a road, or choose Draw this stretch straight if you mean it.

The Route tab shows the distance, the elevation profile and your stops.

Your drafts are on your profile, under Created, then Drafts. The My Routes link in the Route Maker takes you there.
